That was a bit silly...

I commented a few days ago in general conversation that I thought the original moon landing was faked. Given the vast improvement in technology, I just can’t get my head around why no one has even been remotely near the moon since, especially considering all these wacky satellites that have been all over the solar system.

Someone (who shall remain nameless) then stated that there is nothing worth doing on the moon so why should we go back there. Without a conscious thought, my mind and mouth immediately came back with this rebuttal: “the moon should be our first port of defense against extraterrestrial threats”!!! Obviously I have watched far more UFO than I should have. Incidentally – I did meet Gerry Anderson a couple of weekends ago.

I then thought to myself that the moon wouldn’t exactly be a great point of defense for an alien attack. In fact it would be a rather lousy place to have a main defense system. The moon orbits the Earth so there will always be trajectories where you could simply attack the Earth by completely bypassing the moon. When the moon is to the left of the earth you simply attack the Earth from the right. Childs play. I wonder why the unnamed aliens in UFO never tried that.

Hmmm… Good post everyone… Lets keep the energy levels up!
